Hotline would like to invite you to support the
signature campaign launched by the Hong Kong Catholic Commission
of Labour Affairs (HKCCLA).
According to HKCCLA, despite the economic recovery, iron workers
are still deprived of dignified wages and work condition,
including work hours. Therefore, HKCCLA, in its public
statement, made 4 requests:
-
employees of different sectors to support iron
workers' fight for equality and reasonable compensation.
-
The government and the Labour Department be
more actively involved to ensure ironworkers have the power to
negotiate.
-
The government should act according to Art. 39
of the Basic Law, which guarantees labours' right to
negotiate.
-
The government should review the current
labour law and relevant ordinances / policies in order to help
employees to have reasonable work hours and conditiions, so as
to enable workers to maintain basic living standard for their
family and share the economic prosperity that Hong Kong
enjoys.
If you would like to join the campaign, please
