The call to work for
justice and peace, as a constitutive dimension of the preaching of the
gospel, is echoed throughout the Catholic Social Teachings. Every person of faith is called,
but many may not feel
well-equipped to respond.
Context:
 In July and August, the ACPP will be running a
series of experiential learning
workshops to identify, clarify and improve the skills for justice and peace actions. The
series will be composed of 2 Parts:
1. Orientation Workshops on justice and peace work;
3 and 10 July 2010
(Saturdays)
2. Justice & Peace Skills Workshops on organizing and evaluating Justice &
Peace actions such as urgent actions, animation programme, direct action, etc..
o Date
to be decided, based on issues taken up.
o
Issues to be taken up will be based on the needs of
the participants and to coincide with actual on-going
or planned campaigns.
* Attendance of the
orientation workshops will be a necessary requirement for attendance of
the skills workshops.
Registration Fee:
$500
per person for 5 full-day
workshops
$300 per person for 2 days of Orientation
Workshops
* Discounts
may be offered, on request, for
those in need.
The workshops will be carried out in English
* Successful applicants will
be informed and given the details of the workshop before the end of June.
