Summary

Hotline-Asia received an urgent request from reliable sources concerning Ambon / Moluccas, Indonesia. Please act in accordance with the local outcry and if you need background information on this case please let us know.

"We got an urgent call from Ambon asking for immediate action from all concerned groups to stop the brutal attacks and killings done to the Christians by the military, the local Muslims and the jihad force.

Sources said that the unarmed police force is presently under attack by the military, the enormous number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are now crowded in front of the Catholic Center and they fear of further attacks from the three groups thus an emergency evacuation should be immediately done. The only catholic hospital was burned including all its medical equipment.

This worst and horrid situation in Ambon cries for International attention and pressure by all communities in the whole world to urge the Indonesian government and the military to take immediate action to stop the attack done by the military, the local Muslims and the jihad force.

Calling the authorities to issue immediate instructions to the security forces to stop this heinous crime.

Urging for immediate protection and evacuation for the enormous numbers of IDPs."
