Human rights activist, Krishan Sharma, was released on 13 November 2003, after his mother appealed to the Sindh High court.  Although he told the press that he was not tortured while in custody, local sources doubt this statement.

A Special Urgent Appeal for Krishan Sharma was disseminated in early April 2003 requesting his immediate release.  He was held illegally by the clandestine military agencies of Pakistan in Hyderabad (Sindh Province) since 19 March 2003.
